PLATFORM FOR LIVING 2024

DESIGN AND PRODUCTION: MATYÁŠ BARÁK

Platform for Living, as I named the project, stands in the middle of the room. Although it is only one piece of furniture, the platform functions as a bed, table, storage space, sofa and bench at the same time. The small space of the studio apartment is thus divided into 4 basic zones: sleeping, working, living and relaxing. 

The furniture is made of wood and can be dismantled so that it can be easily reshaped or moved in the future. The project deals with the topics of sustainable and affordable housing. It responds to the growing housing crisis in big cities and deals with the question of how to live in spaces that do not belong to us and that we only rent temporarily.
